Obituary for Mary E. Beam

Mary E. Beam,94, passed from this life on Sunday, July 30, 2023, in her home surrounded by her family. Born in Harrisburg, the daughter of Ralph and Cleo Lila (Kauffman) Albright, she lived in the Rutherford area of Swatara Township since 1963. Mary was a homemaker that was devoted to her husband and family. She loved to collect salt & pepper shakers, caring for her many cat and dog friends over the years and caring for her grandchildren.

Mary was a longtime member of Faith Evangelical Congregational Church in Chambers Hill as well as many different friendship clubs over the years.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Harold H. Beam, a daughter, Alice A. Albert; a sister, Barbara Misiti and a brother, Franklin E. Kauffman. Survivors include her daughter, Susan J. Waldschmitt of West Hanover Township and a son, Ralph E. Beam of Swatara Township. Also surviving are grandchildren, Erik W. Beam, Jennifer L. Nichols, Shelly L. Hopko, Angela L. Cohen, Lisa S. Waldschmitt and Diane L. McNamara and 9 great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated in Faith Evangelical Congregational Church, 600 Strites Road, Chambers Hill, on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 11AM, with her Pastor, Rev. Gordon Lewis officiating. Interment to follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 10 til 11AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital or Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Arrangements entrusted to Hall and Stone Funeral Home, Steelton.

  3. To my dear freind for over 50years and great neighbor I will miss her so much. We spent alot of time. Together enjoyed our bus trips she was a true freind. Thanks.
